Unworthy

I am unworthy of this ruined ship
With will destroyed and body forced alee,
I watch the crumbling masts about to tip,
A string of fires spreading wild and free

An endless storm is raging all around
As boiling waters turn to crimson red,
I’m driven deaf to crashing thunders’ sound
No way, I'm sure, to ease my troubled head

Still linger on my mind all through my slumber:
Accursed twisted visions demon-born
I feel them close to split my brain asunder,
All that was sweet therein is from me torn

Replaced by scenes of terror are my dreams,
And sleep-deprived I struggle on existing
With body slowly tearing at the seams,
Anemic and unsure what death could bring

In other times I’m taken through a plain
A barren landscape, void of any life
Amidst an ever-pouring blood as rain,
And while these demons hunt me down in strife

Through roaring winds I wander aimlessly,
Unceasing are the forces from beyond
Ensnared I am in torment forcefully,
Mysterious is my bloody chaos bond

The path is still unclear with every step
With every haunting ghostly hymn I hear
Without a single guiding light or map,
No hope to weather through a safer pier
